Thanks for stopping by.
My name is Nathan Cossar, and I’m a visual artist from Aotearoa New Zealand. Originally from Auckland in the North Island, I’m now fortunate enough to call the South Island home. My passion for nature and exploring New Zealand’s diverse landscapes, is the driving force behind the photographs I take.
I have always found peace when surrounded by nature. I’m continually inspired by intricate patterns and textures that I discover scattered amongst isolated landscapes. Using negative space and natural light, I capture landforms from my own distinct perspective.
I believe art is something people should experience through their own lens. I intentionally avoid naming or describing my art, as I don’t want words to interfere with the viewing experience. I want each viewer to find their own connection with my work, seeing it through their eyes. Each and every one of us sees our world differently and I want that perspective to carry through with the art I create.
Through the process of creating my art, I have become drawn to the uniquely wonderful. Photographs that made me pause and look across every detail. Photographs that made me query what I was even looking at. These intricate landscapes have captivated my attention, and I hope my art captivates yours.
Curated Collections are a collection of limited edition photographic art prints that capture the diversity of landforms. Periodically, a new collection will be released for purchase. These collections feature a curated selection, inspired by colours, tones, patterns and textures.
Each print has been given a unique identifier, which is made up from a combination of the image number and the release number. The purpose of this is to simply provide an identity, and distinguishes one print from another. All prints are limited edition and are available in 4 sizes. Each print comes with a signed certificate of authenticity.
